Bineet Singh is always on the hunt for finding the best food; whether it’s in his city or the place he is traveling to. His love for food and cooking has turned him from a hospitality industry guy to a social media influencer. His blog, Foodiesafari, reflects his fondness towards food and travel. Bineet, as he describes, is your host, dost, and tour guide to food heavens across the globe.

For him, food is not just a mere word but an emotion. He assures that his page has a thousand ways to make one drool, as his motto is that people can ‘take a delicious trip’ whenever they visit his page.

He is always open to trying new cuisines as he perceives it as new experiences. Being from Delhi gives him a wide array of food options starting from affordable street food like Momos and Chaat to exquisite delicacies like Sushi and Pan Asian cuisine from 5-star restaurants. As Bineet puts it, he is a backpacker who loves to roam dreaming about what to eat next.

Besides his love for what he does, Bineet points out another reason for choosing food and travel as his niche. First of all, food is not restricted to a specific region or domain and is relatable to everyone. And for travel, he mentions that everyone loves vacations, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a long trip. Hence, in his travel blogs, he writes about ways to make a budget trip to one’s favorite destination.

This passion spurred out when he was in post-graduation. Although then also he used to click pictures of his food, Instagram didn’t have much hype in 2013 as it has now. However, the idea of starting a food page blog never left his mind, and eventually, on 1st Feb 2018 foodiesafarii was created. He stated it was, in fact, his college life and Hotel management degree that gave him the motivation to follow this career.

It was in February 2020 when he made his first-ever viral content. That single post received over 11k likes and gained him more than 200 followers. And the reach was in lakhs. The most effective way to get viral is by posting unique content. Bineet realizes it at this time as he mentions that hundreds of influencers post about Maagi, but he was unique, and no one has ever posted about it. And that is why so many people appreciated it, and it went viral.

After gaining 10k followers in December 2019, which was over a year since he joined Instagram, Bineet noticed a sudden rise in his followership. And within the next six months, he crossed 20 k followers. ‘This was the time when I realized that time & patience is the key to your growth’ he recalls.

To grow his page organically, Bineet focuses on the three most important subjects- Consistency, content, and engagement. One has to post daily and be consistent with their content to grow and have to create A1 content to go viral. However, these two won’t maximum results if one lacks engagement. For this, engaging with your audience and fellow creators is a must.

As he mentions, Bineet always tries to be unique with his plating and food style. He posts content that will help him to connect with every segment of the audience. Street-side food, easy homemade recipes, and food from five-star restaurants are everything you will find on his feed. However, he does feel low when his content isn’t doing well or gets the desired results. “Whenever I feel low I remind myself that why I started this page, what I want to achieve from this & as a result whatever the situation is, I show up daily without any fail & post my content” he says advising to think of the end goal when feeling demotivated.

“IF A FOOD BRAND WANTS TO PROMOTE THEIR UPCOMING PRODUCTS & IF THEY DECIDE TO CHOOSE INFLUENCERS MARKETING RATHER THAN ANY OTHER MARKETING TOOL, THEN THEY CAN TARGET THOSE AUDIENCES WHO ARE ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN CONSUMING THAT KIND OF PRODUCTS”

As Bineet observes, influencer marketing is an effective marketing technique as brands can tap into a large audience at once who are within a particular niche. While talking about what brands look for in a content creator, his one-word answer is creativity. They look for influencers who don’t make it look like they are doing a ‘sales pitch’ to their audience. They look for someone who has a better understanding of their niche and has organic and natural reach.

In terms of influencer marketing platforms, Bineet thinks that they bring brands and influencers together, serving each other’s purpose. He has worked with a few of them like Kofluence, Freaksout, Pulpkey, and others. Moreover, Dominos, Lays, Natural ice-cream, Life homemade, Vanantra honey, and Fresh to home are some of the popular brands he has worked with. These campaigns were mainly about promoting their new flavors or items which they have launched recently. For future collaborations, he would love to work with brands that bring value to his content.

“GREATEST CHALLENGE WHICH I FACED & STILL FACING IS TIME MANAGEMENT. IT’S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS ON INSTAGRAM. MANAGING THIS PAGE WITH A FULL TIME 9-5 JOB MAKES IT A BIT DIFFICULT FOR ME AT TIMES & ALSO CREATING NEW & UNIQUE CONTENT IS NOT EASY”

It became challenging for him to maintain his 9-5 job as well as the page at the same time. But he believes that the taste of success doesn’t feel real unless you shred sweat for it. For him, it is like any other 9-5 job, which he is very passionate about. However, he shares his discontent that people don’t realize the hard work it takes to do it daily. The amount of thought process it takes to think of an idea behind a click, the prop, aesthetic appeal of feed, and then editing it. And also the effort it takes to travel to faraway places in search of the best food.

Instead of trying everything, he suggests creating a niche of your own and sticking to it and taking it as a job and being consistent. “You can’t expect a 30-day salary if you have only worked for ten days, so the formula applies here as well.  You can’t expect fruitful returns if you are not regular,” says Bineet.
