Growing up, Shruti Wahi has always been a bookworm and loved studying. With high academic qualifications, her achievement list seems to be endless. She completed her Ph.D. in Medieval & Modern Indian History from the University Of Lucknow, followed by successfully writing a book ‘Ideas Of Acharya Narendra Dev’ in 2008. Shruti also wrote various journals which got published in both national and international level, for instance, the University of Michigan.
In 2016, she started her own blog Bespoke Grub where she writes her opinions on beauty, fashion, food & lifestyle. Due to an unfortunate turn of events in her personal life made her to quit her job as a professor, but her passion and habit for writing showed her a new path- blogging. Without putting second thought, she started writing in her blog, and soon her writings got a lot of attention. Her readers started asking her opinion before buying an outfit or food review before going to a restaurant.

Now her day begins with doing shoots, replying to emails, discussing with her team which collaboration she is interested in, and reverting to them. She has worked with various top brands in the fashion and beauty industry, including Make Up Forever, Gerard Cosmetics, Dermalogica, Sugar Cosmetics, Max, Nykaa, Plum, and Urban Clap. Shruti has also collaborated with Tata Motors, One Plus, Titan, and Panasonic.
However, due to the current situation, she shares her disappointment that she had to reject offers from two major brands. One of the brands wanted her to come and shoot in their store respectively, for which she had to decline the offer as she has limited her shoots to her office only.

Shruti says she loves every part of her journey. To begin with, she confesses that she never set any expectation bar for herself and simply enjoys what comes her way. One of the highlights of her life was in 2018 when Exhibit Magazine featured her on their ‘country’s top 50 Bloggers’ in their September 2018 edition. Her interview got published in many magazines, including Social Samosa.

In the beginning, Shruti struggled with getting campaigns. But she overcame this by letting her work speak volumes. ‘If my work is good, they will come to me,’ she says about brands approaching her. She made sure that whenever a brand comes to Lucknow, they come to her directly for promotion. This is how good she wants her work to be.
Shruti believes that Influencer marketing is a more real and effective marketing technique than traditional methods as they are personal and approachable. She is also a firm believer in being authentic and advises upcoming influencers to follow that as well.
