“AFTER ANALYZING I FOUND THAT I HAVE TO SELL DAILY NEED ITEMS IF I WANT TO DO MY BUSINESS, THEN I GOT THE IDEA OF GROCERY GOODS, WHY NOT TO SELL GROCERY GOODS BECAUSE IT IS A BUSINESS IN WHICH THE PROBABILITY OF CUSTOMER COMING IS VERY HIGH AND THE GOODS ARE ALSO OF DAILY NEED”KUldeep ojha
The inspiration for starting Eflair dawned on Kuldeep in 2014 when he used to sell e-commerce items like fashion, electronics, handicrafts, and others. He shares that his customers used to take a long time to come back and reorder goods at that time. He realized that if he wants to continue doing business, he can’t let this carry on and have to include items of daily needs. Hence, he shifted to grocery goods as they are daily requirements, and the frequency of customers coming back will be high as well in this case.
“OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO GIVE AN IDEAL INCENTIVE TO OUR CLIENTS, SO EVERY RUPEE THEY GO THROUGH ON SHOPPING WITH US GIVES THEM MORE INCENTIVE FOR CASH THAN THEY WOULD GO ANYPLACE ELSE”kuldeep ojha
Eflair, a venture of kdecommerce brings ‘comfortable shopping experience’ to every corner of society. They express that unlike many e-commerce companies that focus and operate in the urban areas only, Eflair carries the same services with heightening convenience and comfort to every user living in a rural or semi-rural area. Customer satisfaction is their number one priority.
“WE ARE PROVIDING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES TO SMALL VENDORS BY SELLING THEIR PRODUCTS THROUGH OUR PLATFORM”kuldeep ojha
While speaking about competitive advantages, Kuldeep reveals various solutions they have at hand against the problems facing in this industry. For starters, they help lessen the struggles of small vendors by giving them a platform to sell their products. As he observes, small vendors find difficulty in selling products due to the dominance of big grocery stores. Furthermore, they settle the vendor payment in 24 hours, contradictory to the delay in their payments by existing e-commerce supply chains.
Also, they provide delivery of selected items within 3 hours with low delivery charges. Kuldeep points out that most e-commerce sites have high delivery charges and minimum purchase threshold of Rs. 1000. In comparison, Eflair provides free delivery within a 1 km area, and additionally, Rs 30 is charged for subsequent 5 km. Moreover, their minimum purchase threshold is Rs.100.
“IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR US TO EXPLAIN THE LOCAL VENDOR ABOUT OUR PLATFORM AND CONNECT IT TO OUR PLATFORM”kuldeep ojha
Besides struggling with explaining the local vendors about their platform, the company also found it strenuous in maintaining the store’s inventory. However, they resolved it by training MBA students living in that particular location as it will be easy for them to visit those stores and maintain their inventory.
The founder of this self-funded start-up found difficulty building the team as he wasn’t sure whom to bring and who not to. Later, he determined that close ones and those who have knowledge of the market would be a good fit for this company. He wanted someone who will have new ideas and make his project a good one and work by connecting with him. The team members should perceive this business as their own and support him in all circumstances.
