Recently, she has co-authored two books, and also launched her first ebook as a solo author titled “The Cheeseburst Arranged Marriage”.
Her eBook has been doing quite well and has been a top seller on Amazon in the categories of ebook and Contemporary fiction. She is also a mother of twin boys, and her Instagram page teems with glimpses of her parenting journey with her kids. Her husband, Vinod, is also a constant companion, appearing in Prisha’s iconic funny videos. Together, they have put up many comedy sketches. Moreover, she also has an official hashtag for these videos- #HunVinTv
“MY MOTTO HAS BEEN THE SAME, RIGHT FROM THE START – MAKING CONTENT THAT IS SENSIBLE, HUMOROUS, COMFORTING AND EASY TO READ OR FOLLOW!”prisha lalwani
Prisha had to quit her full-time job when she was expecting the twins. And when they turned about 8-9 months old, she started her content writing journey after a friend recommended her a work from home opportunity in content writing. For the next three years, she continued on this path and then gradually created her website- Mummasaurus. “My previous journey as a content writer had already caught eyeballs, so the transition was easy” she tells us about her journey as a blogger adding that she chose to write in a fun and light-to-read way instead of making it daunting, overwhelming or flaunt-ish.
“MY JOURNEY AS AN INFLUENCER STARTED WITH QUIRKY AND FUNNY POSTS, BUT MY FIRST BIG BREAK WAS WHEN I MADE A FUNNY VIDEO FOR A BABY CARE BRAND’S PRODUCT”prisha lalwani
She addresses that it was an accumulation of a few events that skyrocketed her career as an influencer. The first breakthrough moment came in December 2017, where she came first for making a funny video for a baby care product. “The idea was to make an ‘ad’ and follow other rules of the contest, and I won the first prize for the video” she informs. And she got rewarded with a 10k prize. Prisha remembers another project that she did with a well-known brand in February 2018 that also contributed to making her career successful.
The third big moment came as a bit of a challenge for Prisha. She reveals that the brands demanded a lot of nick-knacks; however, she perceived this event as an excellent learning opportunity. “What they needed from us was far beyond our capacity or understanding” she notifies; however, she is glad that the video also set a trend in the mom blogging community. “And today, the entire parenting circle posts videos in the same format!”
And lastly, the final push to her swing, as she describes the event where she was called in from Delhi to Mumbai to attend an event organized by a baby-care range giant. “Since then, the journey has been onward and upward, thankfully” Prisha says.
The final leap happened when she started posting funny short videos on her Instagram grid. The first one gathered a lot of love and attention from the audience, and within a span of a few months, her husband also showed interest. “When Vinod & I teamed up and started the #HunVinTv videos, it was loved immensely by my audience and I established my niche as a mom comedian – and a first one in India with a parenting comedy niche as her primary content category. Since then, there’s just been no looking back.”
“I HAVE A VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD ANSWER TO THIS – TALKING TO THE COMMUNITY. I GET A LOT OF MESSAGES IN MY INBOXES, AND THEY ARE ALL READ AND REPLIED TO. I BARELY MISS A MESSAGE BECAUSE I FEEL THE AUDIENCE’S LOVE TAKES YOU WHEREVER YOU ARE”prisha lalwani
Prisha currently has almost 33k Instagram followers, and when asked about what sets her apart from other influencers and mom bloggers, she gives us a simple yet valuable answer- ‘I NEVER miss a message because I feel that the Love of your audience takes you wherever you are’. She justifies this action by bringing in attention to a very valid point. Prisha points out that we live in an era of quick success where people can achieve popularity or lose it overnight. Thus, it’s important to interact and talk to your audiences as much as possible instead of rushing for the followers count because, at the end of the day, it is them who make you where you are today. “You are nothing without your followers” she tells us. “A small deed goes a very long way, especially on social media, where influencers tend to consider themselves as stars.”
She also does campaigns with her audiences like blog challenges and secret Santa games twice a year, one on Rakshabandhan and another on New Year. Prisha has also held campaigns that focus on mental health issues.
“PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY MOTHERS, ARE THE PRIMARY DECISION MAKERS OF THE HOUSE. SO IF THEY ARE CONVINCED OF A PRODUCT, THEY ARE MOST LIKELY TO GIVE IT A DIRECT TRY!”prisha lalwani
Prisha has noticed a lot of brands are now approaching influencers for brand marketing, and she is nothing but glad. She explains that since mothers mainly make household decisions, a brand approaching them for product promotions helps them reach their target consumer audience almost directly, especially on products for babies, elders, and even home appliances.
As per Prisha, a brand looks for an influencer who has a well- built rapport with her audience, has a decent following, and can think about marketing their product in a unique way. She has worked with over 1200 big and small brands, including Loreal, Neutrogena, SlurrpFarm, Hasbro, Firstcry, Hamleys, Crompton, Olay, Tupperware, and Pediasure.
“THE GREATEST CHALLENGE IS TO CONTINUE TO BE ‘REGULAR’ AND ‘RELEVANT’. BEING CONSISTENT AND BEING CONSISTENTLY MEANINGFUL WITH YOUR CONTENT ARE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES FOR A CONTENT CREATOR”prisha lalwani
She reveals that one has to keep working and hustling if they want to bring out newer, fresher content that keeps their followers engaged. For upcoming influencers, her advice is to not hesitate from hardwork, stepping out of your comfort zone, some level of investment, and being regular. “Everyone reaches a different destination, at a different pace – keep your heart going and motivated! That’s the only key” she suggests.
